I agree 100% with your article re: the real agenda behind environmentalism/global warming.

However, I think there is another agenda that makes the socialist one you describe possible:  the "rent seeking" of a oligopoly of the major owner of natural resources.

Environmentalism and especially global warming propaganda results in reduction of exploration for and exploitation of natural resources, thus raising the price via simple supply and demand.
