Not being particularly impressed by the FBI, I didn't pay much attention to their claims or to the extent I noticed, I was more skeptical of their interpretation. Having read 2 of Hoover's books re: Communism, I knew his ideas were very different.

Skousen's Naked Capitalist did cause a sea change in my thinking, but not because I believed Skousen's interpretations which he interlaced with quotes from Quigley, but because I immediately hunted down a copy of Tragedy and Hope which was difficult to find in those days and "took in" DIRECTLY Quigley's interpretations of the "ruling class" power groups that he identified, but refused to call "conspiracies."

So, this afternoon, I revised sections of my Skousen report to include actual scanned copies of several relevant FBI memos pertaining to Skousen.



I copied the memos which:



(1) establish that Skousen WAS NOT considered an authority on communism while he worked at the FBI



(2) prove that Skousen WAS NOT "a top aide to J. Edgar Hoover" as he and his admirers claimed and
