Well, Lloyd, what is your current evaluation of Obama now that he has announced his cabinet and economic/national security teams?

Do the people he has chosen thus far betoken a "radical left" agenda from your perspective?

There seem to be considerable concern on the left that the Obama appointments are "too centrist", ie. "Clintonesque".

In my view, the Clinton Administration was itself far too left. However, Clinton, himself, was committed to Centrism, a "New Democrat. at least as a strategy." On the other hand, he was willing to let his wife impose the "dead hand" of socialism on the medical sector of the economy. Were the Clintonistas "centrist" because of their own tendencies or because of the perceived right/center political climate?

The current aura of "crisis", however, may encourage Obama to advocate, or, more likely, allow a far more left/socialist agenda to sail through Congress a la "Roosevelt." I don't have a serious problem with counter-cyclical economic measures to prevent a run on the banks and/or a deep depression. The danger is more and more damaging long term socialist programs that are difficult to reverse.

In regard to foreign policy, it will be interesting to see how he handles the Hamas / Israel conflict. Will he join those advocating that Israel absorb constant shelling and missile attack FOREVER without attempting to destroy her enemies?

In my opinion, whatever force is necessary to defend a border is justified be it from illegal immigrants or missiles. When Pancho Villa crossed the border into Texas, Gen. Pershing was sent to track him down. . . . The force used should be as DISPROPORTIONATE as necessary to obtain victory.

I don't think you answered my question, did you? Anybody can cherry pick one or a few items and then describe someone as "left wing" or "right wing" or "radical" or "centrist" --- but, OVERALL, do you think Obama's appointments betoken a "radical left" perspective and agenda?

No, I agree that Obama's appointments are far more centrist than one would have predicted from his past associations and interests. Only time will tell regarding Obama's "true motives" and "agenda."

However, I am concerned that he is deadly serious about his green agenda. Apparently, he has appointed a woman to head a global warming committee (or something) from the Socialist Internationale who apparently believes in "shrinking" the Western Economies to "give earth a chance." I think she was included in the Clinton Administration as well, however, to little effect.

Give Earth a chance and it will bury you. High energy prices kill. Everything people need requires energy to produce. . . limiting energy via high prices kills off "marginal" people and makes countless others suffer needlessly.

"Shrinking the Economy" is MASS MURDER, treason to humanity.

As expected, "socialism" is natural to Obama.

Disallows banks to pay back their TARP funds, wanting to maintain control. Suggests US GOVT trading-in preferred stock and loans for common stock. Pure SOCIALISM.

Similar things are happening in the auto business. Pure textbook SOCIALISM developing.

What would one expect when one elects a COMMUNITY ORGANIZER = ALINSKY BRAND COMMUNIST AGITATOR?

Last I heard, Paul Volker was complaining that Obama's economic advisors have yet to meet and that he has absolutely ZERO influence on what Obama is doing. So much for "centrist" advisors, appointees, etc.

Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes has given perhaps his most dire warning yet, saying that the Obama administration is preparing to stage terror attacks, declare martial law and cancel the 2012 elections, which is why they are demonizing their political enemies as criminals and terrorists.

Keyes is best known for his performance during the 2000 Republican presidential debates, when he was accredited by many media outlets as being the clear winner during a series of debates with George W. Bush and John McCain.

"It's obvious that they will stop at nothing," Keyes told attendees of a reception in Fort Wayne, adding, "We may wake up one day and there's a series of terrorist attacks, the economy is paralysed....martial law will be declared everywhere in the United States and it won't end until the crisis ends."

Keyes said that Americans should be thankful if they even see another election in 2012, stating, "If we don't wake up and work to see that it happens, we will not see another election."

"The minute they think they can get away with it, they will end this system of government and that is their intention," added Keyes, noting that everyone acting as if the time we are in was just "business as usual" reminds him of the attitude of politicians in the Weimar Republic when Hitler was rising to power or eastern Europe when the Communists were taking over after the second world war.

Keyes said that because the majority of people are decent-minded, they believe others will play by the rules when this simply isn't the case, warning that this attitude will allow evil to take over before we can do anything about it.

"It is so clear hat we have now put a faction in place - they are not playing by the rules and they don't intend to play by the rules - if they were playing by the rules they wouldn't have tried to identify their opposition as criminals," added Keyes, making reference to the recent controversy surrounding the release of the MIAC and Homeland Security reports, which implied that Americans who exercise and are knowledgeable about their constitutional rights are a threat to law enforcement and potential domestic terrorists.

Keyes said that the only solution was from the bottom up because our leaders "are so gutless that they won't even ask that the Constitution be enforced for clear, plain, absolutely unequivocal requirements," and respond meekly with "their lips shut and their hearts terrorized."

Keyes also warned of Obama's agenda to create a civilian security force and said it was part of the ultimate agenda to disarm American citizens and create a police state.

Keyes has been a vocal critic of Obama, warning that he is a radical Communist who is determined to destroy America, and that if his agenda is not stopped then the country as we know it will cease to exist.

Obama has now threatened Chrysler Bond Holders, who according to law should have first crack at Chrysler assents in bankruptcy court, to accept $.35 on the dollar while "giving" the company to his supporters, the UAW. This is an illegal and corrupt use of his Presidential Powers.

Republicans should now start a drum beat for impeachment. Alternative policy discussion? A waste until the restoration of the rule of law and elimination of Obama's socialist dictatorship!

Well! It is now clear that Obama is not only "socialist inclined" as his past and associations clearly portended to to anyone with an ounce of insight, but is committed to acheiving as much socialism as possible in the current "window of crisis" identified by his advisor Rahm Emmanuel.

We are not talking about marginal increases in welfarism and government regulation which "modern liberals" are loath to apply the label of "SOCIALISM." We are talking about GOVERNMENT OWNERSHIP of banking and industry.

I wonder? Is Ernie still blind to all this? I wouldn't be surprised as his claimed "libertarianism" tended to exclude the realm of economic activity. However, Obama's refusal to allow the rule of law to take its course in the Chrysler and GM bankruptcies is a violation of even Ernie's understanding of libery, I would think!

Even I am surprised by the Hugo Chavez/Peron, tin pot banana Republic type methods that are already in evidence. Disgusting that anyone was taken-in. . .

SHAME on the Supreme Court for refusing to review the clear violations of law in the Chrysler and GM bankruptcies!

Most likely they are acting from cowardice. The Court is probably afraid of the public outrage that might result from their intervention. Delays at this point could lead to liquidation instead of "political" re-organization which could undermine the "authority" of the Court.

However, this is really disgusting, however. I can understand Obama's motive to save the UAW, especially the benefits of the retirees. However, demonizing and SCREWING the secrured bondholders (most of whom are PENSION funds) is totally out of line, a tacctic of a Chavez or Castro.

To save the UAW within the law, Obama would have had to pour in enough money to pay-off the bondholders. . . why the big deal? Just an extra trip to the printing press.

I would add, as a personal aside, that I BENEFIT in the short run the Obama bail-out of the UAW as I very frequently work for UAW retirees in the Detroit area. Detroit would suffer and incredible blow if the retirees lost their pensions in bankruptcy. However, that is what the law calls for. . . AND SHOULD HAPPEN. In the long run, the auto companies cannot survive the "legacy" costs of pensions/benefits they can no longer afford.

They ALSO cannot afford on-going UAW power as propped-up by the pro-Union laws passed under Franklin Roosevelt which Obama plans to intensify. As soon as the auto companies start making money again (if ever), the UAW will confiscate most of the profits, keeping the auto companies under-capitalized in perpetuity. The answer is simple, but not forthcoming any time soon: repeal laws that violate property rights, making Corporations the hostages of big unions.

When he appointed Cass Sunstein as regulatory czar and he believes in "Explicit Consent", harvesting human organs without family consent, and to allow animals to be represented in court, while banning all hunting, People said it didn't matter...

When he appointed Kevin Jennings, an overt homosexual, and organizer of a group called gay, lesbian, straight, education network, as safe school czar and it became known that he had a history of bad advice to teenagers, People said it didn't matter...

When he appointed Mark Lloyd as diversity czar and he believed in curtailing free speech, taking from one and giving to another to spread the wealth and admires Hugo Chavez, People said it didn't matter...

When Valerie Jarrett was selected as Obama's senior White House advisor and she is an avowed Socialist, People said it didn't matter...

When Anita Dunn, White House Communications director said Mao Tse Tung was her favorite philosopher and the person she turned to most for inspiration, People said it didn't matter...

When he appointed Carol Browner as global warming czar, and she is a well known socialist working on Cap and trade as the nation’s largest tax hike in history, People said it doesn't matter...

When he appointed Van Jones, an ex-con and avowed Communist as green energy czar, who since had to resign when this was made known, People said it didn't matter...

When Tom Daschle, Obama's pick for health and human services secretary could not be confirmed, because he was a tax cheat, People said it didn't matter...

When as president of the United States, he bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, People said it didn't matter...

When he traveled around the world criticizing America and never once talking of her greatness, People said it didn't matter...

When his actions concerning the middle-east seemed to support the Palestinians over Israel, our long time friend, People said it doesn't matter...

When he took American tax dollars to resettle thousands of Palestinians from Gaza to the United States , People said it doesn't matter...

When he upset our European allies by removing plans for a missile defense system against the Russians, People said it doesn't matter...

When he played politics in Afghanistan by not sending troops the Field Commanders said we had to have to win, People said it didn't matter...

When he started spending us into a debt that was so big we could not pay it off, People said it didn't matter...

When he took a huge spending bill under the guise of stimulus and used it to pay off organizations, unions and individuals that got him elected, People said it didn't matter...

When he forced the takeover of insurance companies, car companies, banks, etc, People said it didn't matter...

When he took away student loans from the banks and put it through the government, People said it didn't matter...

When he designed plans to take over the health care system and put it under government control, People said it didn't matter...

When he set into motion a plan to take over the control of all energy resources in the United States through Cap and Trade, People said it didn't matter...

When he announced he was returning the masterminds of 9-11 to New York City to stand trial as ordinary criminals -- not war criminals -- and thus allow them the benefits from our system of jurisprudence, The mainstream media loved it and the people said it didn't matter...(Oh really? Go ask an FDNY FF, NYPD Cop, NY EMS, NY Port Authority Cop or Transit Worker, or a 9/11 Families member who was at the World Trade Center 9/11/2001 and see if it matters...)

When he finally completed his transformation of America into a Socialist State, people finally woke up, but it was too late...

Any one of these things, in and of themselves does not really matter. But when you add them up one by one you get a phenomenal score that points to the fact that our Obama is determined to make America over into a Marxist/Socialist society. All of the items in the preceding paragraphs have been put into place. All can be documented very easily. Before you disavow this, do an internet search. The last paragraph alone is not yet cast in stone. You and I will write that paragraph. Will it read as above or will it be a more happy ending for most of America ? Personally, I like happy endings...

If you are an Obama Supporter, please recognize that you have elected a president who is a 'socialist'. There is simply no debate about these facts. But you need to seek the truth; you will be richer for it. Don't just belittle the opposition. Search for the truth. I did. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Constitutionalist, Libertarians and what have you, we all need to pull together. We all must pull together or watch the demise of a society that we all love and cherish. If you are a religious person, pray for our nation...

Never before in the history of America have we been confronted with problems so huge that the very existence of our country is in jeopardy. Don't rely on most television news and what you read in the newspapers for the truth. Search the internet. Yes, there is a lot of bad information, lies and distortions there as well, but you are smart enough to spot the fallacies. Newspapers are a dying breed. They are currently seeking a bailout from the government. Do you really think they are about to print the truth? Obama praises all the television news networks except Fox who he is currently waging an open war against. There must be a reason. He does not call them down on any specifics, and he has failed to refute any facts presented – because it is all true. If they lie, he should call them out on it but he doesn't. Please, find the truth, it will set you free...

Our biggest enemy is not China, Russia or Iran; no, our biggest enemy is the current contingent of politicians in Washington DC led by the Progressive Left Liberals who support the previously mentioned things...

Wake Up America! There's still time in 2010 to take back America and send a message LOUD and CLEAR to those who think 'it doesn't matter'...

I happen to think 'it does matter'...
